Why This Matters
Why should this matter to you? And who are our stakeholders?
You are our stakeholders. As diverse as Michiganders are, we are united by our passion for our state and our love of our fresh water. In Michigan we like to say you are never more than six miles away from a body of water. That’s why the award winning “Pure Michigan” ads have resonated so deeply. Whether you are a conservationist, a hunter, a hiker, a biker, a fisherman, a student, a gardener, a troll, a Yooper, a rural or urban dweller or a suburban mother or father, you care deeply about protecting Michigan’s water.
Did you know you can protect the Great Lakes Region and our water from sulfide mining?
Your donation today can help us get a ballot measure on the November 2010 ballot that protects our water by making it much more difficult to operate sulfide or uranium mines in Michigan. Since Michigan is the heart of the Great Lakes, this will have a reverberating effect throughout the region and send a loud and clear message that we will do everything possible to protect our water.
